Have you ever noticed a clock in a casino, or have you ever noticed any of the staff wearing a watch – the answer to this is no. Casinos do not have clocks and do not allow their staff to wear watches as they want their customers to ‘lose track of time’. If clocks are on show or if the dealer is wearing a watch it would be all to easy for the customer to ‘clock watch’, knowing that they have to leave at a specified time – and as time flies when you are having fun its easy for the customer to lose track. All casinos have blacked out windows or large, thick drapes to block out any sunlight – again, this is to prevent the customer from noticing that day is turning into night and it really is time to go home.

Waitresses in casinos tend to be attractive young ladies, and normally wearing a revealing or skimpy outfit. This is because the male customer is more likely to tip heavily to a young, attractive woman – and because most casinos take a cut of the waitresses tips this is another source of income for them.

Free coffee, sandwiches, drinks at the bar and even complimentary inhouse restaurant meals are on tap for the regular customer. The customer thinks that they are getting a good deal because they are getting all these things for free – unfortunately they don’t take into consideration the hundreds or thousands of pounds that they have spent at the tables over the past few weeks.

Just remember – there is no such thing as a ‘free meal’
